Asbury Heights is proud to announce a new service - the Seniors Information and Referral Service (SIRS). This currently free service is designed to provide you, your children, and caregivers with information related to care, finances, psychosocial or legal needs of seniors. There are many programs that benefit seniors, but you need to know where to find them. SIRS does just that. The intent of SIRS is to be the bridge that connects seniors in need and supporting organizations in the Pittsburgh area.

Saving time is a priority for many caregivers who work full-time jobs while managing family responsibilities. It can be time consuming trying to find answers to important questions and can sometimes require time away from work. SIRS can help save you time by suggesting alternative transportation arrangements to doctor appointments, ordering applications, checking on bed availability prices, etc. so that you and your loved ones can review the information and follow up as necessary.

The following are some suggested topics that you might want to discuss further with the SIRS counselor, a masters-level social worker who understands the problems of and tailoring solutions for seniors and their families.
