UPMC Universal Masking Update

The COVID-19 pandemic continues to evolve and UPMC leadership has tailored their approach to masking to match the lower level of risk for most people. Beginning Monday, May 1, universal masking will no longer be required at Asbury Heights and throughout all UPMC Senior Communities. This updated policy includes all levels of care.

On this date, the use of surgical masks will become optional. Employees, visitors, and residents who wish to wear a mask are encouraged to do so. Again, surgical masks will no longer be required in common areas across campus.  Masks will continue to be available at all visitor entrances as well as within each nursing community.

There will continue to be circumstances that warrant universal masking.  Please reach out to your venue leader if you have any questions regarding the status of your loved one’s venue. You may also utilize the COVID-19 Hotline for information specific to cases across the campus.

We ask visitors to please refrain from visiting if you are experiencing symptoms of a head cold, throat infection, pneumonia, or any flu-like illness or fever.  As a reminder, we encourage visitation, and you may visit your loved one as often and as long as you would like.

At Asbury Heights and across UPMC Senior Communities, the health and safety of the residents and staff continue to be our top priorities. We will continue to monitor the situation as the pandemic changes.
